Hockey glass is used in ice rinks and other indoor sports arenas to provide a safety barrier between fans and players. Hockey glass is tempered because it needs to be able to withstand the impact of flying pucks, balls and players crashing into it. In the rare event that it does break, this “safety glass” is designed to break into small, safe pieces rather than shards so that it doesn’t cut people.
